The ten-digit +225 format, explained

Here is the detail that catches most people. In Cote d'Ivoire, the leading 0 is part of the number, not a trunk prefix. A mobile number is written locally as 07 xx xx xx xx, and internationally it stays +225 07 xx xx xx xx. Mobile numbers start with 01, 05 or 07.

So do not strip the zero the way you would for many European numbers. Choose Cote d'Ivoire (+225) in the form's country list and enter all ten digits. If you see only eight digits somewhere, that is the pre-2021 format and it will not work.

French is the official language and the default for most local SMS. Dioula is widely spoken in daily life, but verification texts are almost always in French or in your app's language.

When the code is late or missing

Start with the format. A number entered with eight digits, or with the zero removed, is the usual cause of silence on a +225 order.

After that:

• Ask the app to resend. A second SMS can sometimes reach the same number.
• Make sure the app is not blocking virtual numbers in its own error message.
• Cancel while the timer is running if you want to try a different country. Nothing has been charged at that point; the full amount returns to your wallet.
• If the 20 minutes pass without a code, the refund happens on its own.
