A Separate Number for Meesho: How to Get the OTP

Here is a situation we hear about often. Someone starts reselling Meesho products from home, sharing catalogs with friends and neighbors. Within a month the family phone is buzzing with order questions, the kids are reading supplier messages, and every Meesho login code lands on a handset that three people share.

The answer is a second number that belongs to the business, not the household. It keeps the shop's codes, customer chats and personal life in separate lanes. The same logic works for a student setting up a first shopping account, or a buyer who simply prefers not to hand a primary number to one more app.

Why Meesho asks for a phone number at all

Meesho is a phone-first app. The mobile number is how it identifies you, and a one-time password texted to that number is how most people get in. In practice a Meesho SMS code shows up when you:

• create an account for the first time,
• sign in on a new phone or after reinstalling the app,
• change the details tied to the account.

Because the number does the job a password does elsewhere, losing access to it can mean losing access to the account. Keep that in mind when choosing between the two products.

Ordering a Meesho verification code, start to finish

1. Sign up at /signup with your email (or Google) and top up the wallet. Prices become visible after that first top-up.
2. In Instant OTP, pick Meesho, then the country. Meesho is built for India, so India is the default for most people.
3. Copy the number shown. Meesho's field assumes +91, so enter the 10 digits without any 0 in front.
4. Tap the button in Meesho that sends the OTP.
5. Watch the live inbox in your OTP Bolt dashboard; the SMS normally appears within a minute or two. Type it into Meesho.

Your order stays open for 20 minutes. No SMS in that time, or a cancel before one arrives, and the price is returned to your wallet without you asking. A code that did arrive is not refundable. Sometimes the same number can take one extra SMS, which is handy if Meesho asks twice.

Country coverage for Meesho numbers

Instant OTP for Meesho is currently available in 197 countries. You will almost always want an Indian number, because the app is aimed at Indian shoppers and suppliers. The wider list exists mainly for testers and for people whose situation is unusual.

When the Meesho code is late or missing

Give it two or three minutes before doing anything. If it still has not shown up, check these in order:

1. Digits. A doubled +91, an extra 0 or a missing digit is the usual culprit.
2. Resend limits. Asking Meesho for codes several times in a row can trigger a cooldown on that number.
3. Number refused. Apps sometimes reject virtual numbers, and that is outside anyone's control. It is also why every Instant OTP order refunds when the window runs out with nothing received.

Then cancel and order a new number. The refund is automatic, so trying again costs nothing extra for the failed attempt.
